Series LZMII Medium-Consistency Paste Mill
I. Introduction:
In recent years, the paper making industry in China has developed rapidly with continuous emergence of new varieties and greatly improved output of paper and cardboard. However, because of our forest resources shortage, the wood pulp output is low and it is far from meeting the demand of paper making industry. Therefore, the paper making plants in various places in China have developed various kinds of pulp according to their actual situations. Straw and wheat straw hood pulp, waste paper pulp, reed pulp, bamboo pulp, etc are widely used. Because of huge differences among the characteristics of various fibers, the beating requirements vary a lot. How to adapt to various fibers to get qualified pulping so as to produce qualified sheets? It sets up very high requirements on pulping technologies.
High-consistency beating technology is listed as one of key technologies to be resolved for our paper making industry under the circumstances.
II. Advantages of High-consistency Beating
1. It is applicable for treating various kinds of pulp. Because the fiber strength of various straw and waste paper pulp is low and the fiber is short, cutting off shall be avoided as much as possible during the beating process. It is the advantage of medium-consistency beating, comparing with low-consistency beating. The pulp of broadleaved wood is short and hard. Thread separation and devillicate shall be done to reduce cut-off as far as possible. It is a problem not possible to be resolved by low-consistency beating. However, with the use of medium-consistency beating, it can be resolved easily. Nowadays, many manufacturers adopt 100% bleached broadleaved wood pulp to produce carbon free base paper or static duplicating paper generally through medium-consistency beating. Because the fiber length of wood pulp is 3-5 times of short fiber length, before medium-consistency beating, cutoff and separation shall be done under 3-4% concentration. Then perform beating under 6-8% concentration to get good effect of thread separation and devillicate. Because large amount of ink and gooey is contained in various kinds of waste paper pulp, using medium-consistency beating can effectively disperse the ink and gooey to improve the pulping treatment quality.
2. The result that a number of manufacturers use medium-consistency beating technology demonstrates that the finish paper physical strength index can be improved 20-30%.
3. The power consumption for beating reduces dramatically. The beating process contains two steps which are quite power consuming, which normally is 30-50% of power consumption per tonnage. For medium-consistency beating technology, because the beating concentration rises comparing to the concentration of low-consistency beating, the pulp flow per unit time is improved, thus the power consumption for beating can normally reduce 30-50%.
III. Structure of Series LZMII High-consistency Paste Mill
Series LZMIl medium-consistency paste mill mainly consists of feeding system, defibrination system and motor transmission. The feeding system consists of variable speed reducer, feeding screw, etc. The defibrination system mainly consists of mill chamber, rotor, stator, electric (manual) gap regulating device, etc.
